My Daddy's razor

As a little child, I remember watching my dad shave. I was amazed at how it all worked. The shaving cup with a stiff looking brush, the way it seemed to just create soap bubbles from nowhere, the shining silver razor. My dad has been using Merkur razors since that time.
My mom bought him his first Merkur razor when I was about 2 years old. She was searching for something that would be used but last for an extended period of time. She was tired of buying things for him that became worn out or out grown over the years. The Merkur razor did just that.
The Merkur razor lasted throughout my childhood. He shaved with that razor for over 17 years. But this year, I think he will start shaving with something new, the brand new Merkur razor that I am getting him for Christmas!
